Crystal Springs Baptist Church is here to love Jesus our God and to love people. ~D.A.S.
Crystal Springs Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation located at 941 Highway 48 East in the Dexter community of Walthall County, Mississippi. Since its founding in 1892, our church has sought to faithfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, make disciples, and serve our community.
The church was established by three brothers, Charlie, Thomas, and Billy Pigott, on land donated by Elisha Magee. In November 1893, Rev. W. W. Schillings preached the first sermon to the fifty charter members of Crystal Springs Baptist Church, and Bro. C. L. Corkern was selected as the church's first pastor. For more than 130 years, God has faithfully blessed our congregation as we have ministered to generations of families throughout our community.
From 1892 to 2026, the physical setting, the membership, and the pastors of Crystal Springs Baptist Church have changed greatly; yet the basic principle of Christian fellowship of that first church still beckons in the Dexter community: Come worship with us here at Crystal Springs - where men meet God.
God has blessed our church with excellent facilities to support ministry and fellowship. Our campus includes:
A sanctuary with seating for approximately 200 people
Educational building and classroom space
Family Life Center
Choir building
Pastor's parsonage
Additional parsonage for the Minister of Music
These facilities provide opportunities for worship, discipleship, fellowship, outreach, and future growth.
